Medical School Interview Preparation And Tips
If your UCAS form was of a high standard you will be invited to come down for an interview. Now before you get excited remind yourself you are not in yet. The University is basically saying on paper you look like a good candidate but we need to see what you are like in person.
- How long is the interview
In general the interview will last between 10 and 20 minutes however there have been cases where the interviews have been 5 minutes long all the way up too 45 minutes long. Don’t worry about how long the interview is offers are made to students who had both short and long interviews.
The Admissions Process For A Medical Degree In The UK

Before I begin this post I am going to mention one important date: the 15th October. This is the date when your medicine applications need to be in by for every application cycle. Any applications sent any later than this date will not even be looked at so keep that date in the back of your mind.
In order to make the application process more easy to understand I am going to produce a flow chart and then explain what it means below.

One of the best ways to prepare for an upcoming medical interview is to have numerous practice interviews, where you get asked a wide range of diffrent questions. It is beneficial to make the interview as realistic as possible so ask the person who is helping you to role play and to take the task seriously as opposed to looking at it as a relaxed informal chat as a lot of interviews are not!
To help you in your preperation I have generated a list of questions you may get asked at an interview, a good idea would be too print them out and get a relative friend or teacher to ask you all of them so you can prepare.
Preparing for the Biomedical admissions test (BMAT)
The biomedical admissions test was created to assist medical and veterinary schools in the admissions process. Some of the universities have much more applications than places and the majority of these application are strong. The BMAT allows the universities to filter out the strongest candidates based on exam performance. The BMAT exam lasts for 2 hours and is split into 3 sections. The examination test date is 31st October 2008. This article will aim to provide you with some advice and give an overview to students who are planning on taking the BMAT exam.
