UKCAT overview

The UKCAT is a 2 hour long exam which is used by medical schools to help them select the most able students for admissions. This test was introduced because of the surge in medical admissions over the past years. In some situations medicals schools had 3000 to 4000 students competing for 300 places. As a result medical schools had difficulty in picking out the top candidates as there were many students who all meet the criteria for admitance.
